The inverse square law of
gravitation, which states that two bodies attract one another with a
force whose strength is directly proportional to the product of their
masses and inversely proportional to the square of their distance, is
constrained within boundaries set by general relativity for a
specific average density of matter, so that gravity causes the
curvature of space-time as the universe of matter constantly expands.
This is a theory which fitted the universe of known facts in the time
of the theorist, as does the theory of relativity in our own time.
Since relativity is not absolute it is therefore not true but is
merely a step on the way to a human understanding of truth
Discussing the thoughts raised in my book, "The Reality Of Being, Understanding The Spiritual Universe" and reflecting on what is happening in the world of relativity!

Eternity today
The genesis of life on earth is
an absolutely unique event and life in its fullness propagates on
earth as a solitary pulsation, a unique wave with man at its crest
"Nothing is so delicate and
fugitive by its very nature as a beginning – the roots of life are
lost to view in an unknowable world of soft tissue and primeval slime"
What is the nature of the eternal
Tao? - The Tao that can be explained is not the eternal Tao ! - The
nature of the Tao is transcendence since the eternal necessarily
transcends time – this reveals the fundamental error of both the
Tao and the modern scientific enterprise, which both deny
transcendence while seeking to utilize infinities and absolutes.
These abrogate relativity along with the field of relative thought
and they also abrogate the field of the artificial actuality of
civilization, where we are held captive, like slaves in Egypt. How
can we escape into the transcendent reality that is as infinite as the eternity, the absolute zero, into which the universe is expanding. How can we escape without
religion? It is precisely religion which introduces transcendence,
faith in the absolute categories, into our finite actualities.
Without religion we are trapped in a relative universe that has
fallen into the power of the negative.
Each human being must make the
paradoxical leap of faith that yields an existential certitude in the
absolute categories
"A wise man walks with head bowed
!!"

Let's do it !!
Life is precious! We speculate
endlessly about life on other planets in other galaxies of the
universe but that is all it is, just speculation. Here on our planet,
in the meantime we are destroying nature with an artificial concrete
environment in which we hide from our true being. Life on earth could
well be the only life in the universe, interrelated in a single
strand, precious, wonderful and beautiful. We spoil it by dwelling on
the negative, uncovered by the reflective intellect in the
imagination of man alone. This negative is confined within the
actuality of existence and cannot enter reality, which is absolute
and can only be reached by faith and not by thought. Reality is
being, life is only being. Let us be! Drop this sham of civilization,
this negative actuality imposed on nature! Stop killing life, in all
its forms!

Who needs salvation?
Because of the style and preaching of certain types of protestant evangelist the Bible, especially the new testament, has been largely discredited among those who are most in need of its offer of salvation. This is quite sad when you come to think of it but is certainly not out of line with the way things go in the world, especially among the worldly, among whom these so called evangelists are to be numbered, preaching as they do a gospel of worldly success, the same worldly success which their inspired evangelism brings to them. The world has been appropriated by the worldly but our hope lies beyond. To quote Isaiah "Their speech and their actions are against the Lord, in defiance of His glorious presence!"

What's in a name?
Names only have meaning within a relative context. Each human being is born a nameless soul, an image of absolute being. The name we are each given fits us into a social context, a relative framework that claims our being, our life and consciousness, and conditions and indoctrinates us into particular value systems that have no absolute validity. We are, thus, lost souls, imprisoned in relativity like slaves in Egypt. Of course relativity theory is the final word of rational thought. Freedom lies beyond.

Inflating consciousness ?
Since my previous blog entries my consciousness has been inflating, along with the universe. A Tibetan Buddhist Rinpoche friend recently, in my presence, denied the expansion of the universe, exclaiming "Where can it expand ? - there is nothing out there, " which is precisely the point. The most advanced speculation of the physical theorists is that the material universe came into existence out of nothing, which is also the nothing into which it is expanding, or inflating. This nothing is absolute, infinite and eternal, in a word, spiritual, while the physical universe is relative, finite and temporal, in a word, material. The universe cannot expand forever since it had a beginning and must see an end. But the nothingness of spirit, absolute being, which shows forth within the physical universe as consciousness and life, is eternal and has no beginning and consequently no end

Has it been so long?
I have returned to my blog after a long absence - has it been so long ? Time, of course, is actually relative and the moment in which our lives are led is really absolute and it is this absolute perspective that I strive to attain in my daily living. Of course I am caught up in the relativity of existence through the lives of my companions just like everyone else, except my cats. Thank God for cats. Observing them and living with them can keep us on an even keel.
